The sale and subsequent renewals of each plate generates $25 for the PowerPlay! Beyond School Grant Program, which funds youth programs in park and recreation agencies throughout Illinois. The goal of the PowerPlay! program is to increase the number of opportunities designed to show youth the lifelong benefits of fitness, health and nutrition. After School Care - Grant Park, Northlake

The Veterans Park District After School Care program is designed to create a safe, healthy and nurturing environment for school age children while taking time out for fun. Our program offers benefits that help strengthen schools, families and communities.

Staff will plan the afternoon with activities that allow the children to socialize, relax, play games and sports, begin homework, engage in creative art and form positive relationships with peers. The classroom environment includes different areas for children to choose from throughout the afternoon and everyone will receive a snack daily..

Grades: K-5 (full or afternoon kindergarten only)
Day: 2 day minimum required
Time: After school-6 PM
Facility: Grant Park (Northlake)
School transportation available for:
District 89: Jane Addams, Melrose Park
District 83: Roy, Scott, Westdale
District 87: Whittier, Riley
Early dismissal care available – reservation and a minimum of 4 children required (pickup not available before noon).

Monthly Fees:

2 days: $72/month
3 days: $109/month
4 days: $145/month
5 days: $181/month
Early Dismissal Additional Fee: $6

Tuition due on the last service day of each month, one month
in advance.

Parents must complete a registration packet before a child is allowed to register. Packets are available at Grant Park and Leoni Complex. You may also download our parent packet from the download section below.

The following checklist is due at registration:
• Completed Registration Packet
• Child's Birth Certificate
• Current Physical and Medical Required
• Non-refundable $25 registration fee and first month's tuition required

Additional Information:

• Minimum 4 children per school in order to provide transportation
• Transportation is provided from your child's school to Grant Park
• Parents pickup by 6 PM
• Schedule based on your child's school calendar
• No pickup available on early dismissal before noon
• We accept Action for Children, a state funded program which provides tuition assistance for families who qualify
