Our DCFS licensed preschool program offers a balance of social and academic experiences for your little learner. Your child will be in- spired daily by dedicated teachers who provide a nurturing environ- ment. Each child will have the opportunity to meet new friends, build self-con dence, naturally explore, develop strong self-esteem and learn to cooperate with others. It is our goal that every child leaves having a positive learning experience here at Veterans Park District Preschool.
The preschool program follows the Creative Curriculum, endorsed by the National Association of Education of Young Learners. Activi- ties are based on incorporating the different areas of the classroom, such as of blocks/dramatic play, small and large motor activities, quiet area as well as art, music, literacy, science and discovery. Teachers also follow the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, which are aligned with the Illinois Kindergarten Stan- dards and Common Core State Standards to promote readiness for Kindergarten.
The preschool uses the Get Set for School Readiness, Writing
