2019 VPD Youth Basketball League
Our ever popular VPD Youth Basketball league scored strong again this year. Parents and spectators packed the gym on Saturdays and Sundays through the season. Thank you to all the volunteer coach- es, participants and parents who made this year a success.
Congratulations to the League Champions.
Summer 2019 Veterans Park District Improvements
Veterans Park Distract is happy to announce the beginning of many wonderful improvements and renovations at our parks.
Gouin Park and Pool in Franklin Park will receive a new seal coated parking lot and walking path. Handicap parking spaces will be added near the newly installed Liberty Wheel Chair swing.
At Grant Park Recreation Center in Northlake new brick pavers will line the entrance to the building. The parking lot and parking spaces along Golfview Drive will have new asphalt. The building will be updated with LED lighting and a new fresh coat of paint. Our popular walking path will be updated with new seal coating.
Bulger Park in Melrose Park will receive a new driveway between the Maintenance Garage and Bulger Hall. New fresh coat of paint, gutters and roo ng will be installed on the Bulger Hall.
We welcome all to visit, kick back and savor a moment in one of our parks!
2019 Proviso Idol
This year Veterans Park District had the privilege of working with Proviso Township: Youth Services for the Ninth Annual Proviso Idol Singing Competition. Throughout this competition we had the honor of displaying the talents of youth ages 8-21, living within the 14 vil- lages of Proviso Township boundaries. At the end of the competition, all winners were rewarded and recognized at the Proviso Township Board meeting where they each were presented with a certi cate and a monetary check. In addition, we are proud to announce that Veterans Park District was also presented with a certi cate of appre- ciation for our contributing services to this major event.
VPD Safety Detail Patrol
Veterans Park District Safety Detail will begin their summer routine to patrol our parks and facilities April 1st. We greatly appreciate the assistance of our local police departments and the vigilance of our park district residents, as we work together to ensure a safe and pleasant park district experience. Call any one of our facilities to report any incidents that might occur at our park and facilities.
