Veterans Park District Receives Illinois Department of Natural Resources/Open Space and Land Acquisition Grant Award
Veterans Park District is excited to announce the recent grant award from the Illinois Department of Natural Re- sources/Open Space and Land Acquisition Grant. The funding will provide beauti cation and renovation of Gouin Park located in Franklin Park, Illinois.
The Gouin Park Renovation Project consists of removal
of the worn out, outdated existing playground equipment and surface, new ADA wheelchair accessible playground equipment, a poured in rubber surface, a 20’ by 50’ custom canopy shade picnic area, a concrete patio and walkway, an outdoor  tness equipment area,  ve LED decorative security lighting, landscaping with an emphasis on planting native vegetation, (including shrubs, grasses and a butter y garden), park benches, picnic tables and brick pavers.

2-8x3 1⁄2 tables are available on a  rst come,  rst serve basis. Set up time is 8-9 AM.
